Non-availability of Customer Care Support All Economic Operator ePPS Users are hereby informed that the Department of Contracts will be holding its annual ePPS training between the 11th and 15th June 2018. This means that the Department’s staff will not be available to offer its Customer Care service, however, the Front Office will remain open as usual. Contracting Authorities have been guided not to set CfTs to close during this period. System Maintenance Activity We would like to kindly inform that we plan a scheduled high priority maintenance this coming Monday, 19h March 2018. In the course of the associated maintenance activities, interruptions of the ePPS service will be experienced, from 18:00 CET till 18:30 CET (roughly). eID Service Interruption Dear EO eID User. Due to maintenance to the eID services on 02/12/2017 between 12:00hrs and 20:00hrs, economic operators making use of this service to log in to ePPS will experience a service disruption. Economic operators who do not make use of the eID service to access ePPS will not be affected. All documentation will still be available for your perusal. Any inconvenience caused is regretted. Launching of the Updated ePPS Tender Preparation Tool Dear Economic Operator ePPS User. The ePPS Tender Preparation Tool (TPT) is now been updated in order for it not to be browser dependent. The new ePPS version will be deployed on the live environment on Wednesday, 19/07/2017 at 18:00hrs (Malta Time). What this means is that it can now be used through any browser, even those that do not support Java, like MS Edge, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. After selecting the Tender option through the Shown CfT Menu, you will be asked to Accept and Confirm all of the above. As soon as this is done, the screen refreshes to display the View Tenders page containing the launch Tender Preparation button. As soon as this button is clicked the tool is launched and you will be asked to confirm your login credentials. As soon as this is done, the TPT and the Tender Structure launch. Filling in and submission can be carried out in the same way as was done in the previous version of the TPT. Reference is being made to the attached file containing instructions on how to log in to the TPT and launch the Tender Structure using the MS Windows and the four (4) most popular browsers used on this operating system. For other browsers running on MS Windows or any other operating system the process to be followed is similar but in case of difficulty you can contact the Department’s Customer Care either via e-mail at info.contracts@gov.mt or via telephone from Monday to Friday on +356 21220212 between 8.30am and 1.30pm. Tender Preparation Tool V5.0.1 and Java 8 Update 141 (Update) Dear EO EPPS User The News Item published on 21/07/2017 regarding the issue with the Tender Preparation Tool’s (TPT) Web Start and Java 8 Update 141 refers. The Department of Contracts would like to notify all EO EPPS Users that the issue has been resolved by the system developers and now the online TPT can be used normally on any browser. Tender Preparation Tool V5.0.1 and Java 8 Update 141 Dear EO ePPS User. Further to the implementation of an update to the ePPS Tender Preparation Tool (TPT) last Wednesday (19/07/2017), an update was also carried out by Oracle to their Java software (updating it to - Java 8 Update 141). With this update, an issue arose with all applications that make use of Java Web Start which incidentally the updated TPT makes use of, where an error message is displayed when run. This issue is being monitored by this Department and the System Developer. Until further notice, in order to make submissions, the offline TPT must be used. Kindly see the attached file for instructions on how to download and extract the TPT. Instructions are also available on how to download the Tender Structure and open it through the TPT. Please note that if Java is not updated to Java 8 Update 141, the online TPT will run normally. Any inconvenience is regretted.
